In response to the growing imperialist threats against Iran the Iranian Committee Against War (ICAW) held a picket action at the US Consulate in Vancouver BC, Canada. More than 50 people joined the protest to opposed the US threats of military attack on Iran.
Saffaar Saaed, Iranian Committee Against War organizer and an Iranian journalist and writer opened the picket and introduced the speakers alongside co-MC Shannon Bundock of Mobilization Against War and Occupation.
Speakers throughout the picket included John Waller, Coordinator of the Pastors for Peace Caravan to Cuba; Asif Ali Shah of the United Muslim Alliance; Dalal Assad, Iraqi antiwar activist with the Mesopotamian Womens and Orphans Education and Welfare Society; and Esteban Gonzalez Arteaga, highschool student and organizer with Mobilization Against War and Occupation.
Iranian Committee Against War – Vancouver Emergency Action Plan in the case that the US starts bombing and marching in Iran, come to the US Consulate (1075 W Pender @ Thurlow St) on the day of attack at 4pm, and for the next week at the same time, and daily protests for the first week. This action plan is also endorsed and supported by MAWO.
